Karen was born in North London in the middle of a snowstorm. Since then she has had her head full of stories and music - which have grown into story songs.

She performs in a variety of genres, mainly original songs, improvisation, poetry set to music and (in the duo 'Wild Ruby') traditional Sephardic songs.

She has performed in near and far flung concert halls, festivals, clubs, on BBC radio, in African villages and on feluccas on the Nile. Her collaborations include rock bands, acappella groups and The Oxford Improvisors.

She is planning for her show Songs From a Mirror World to be her Oxford, national and possibly world tour of reasonably priced venues equipped with a tuned piano.

She seeks collaboration with anyone having an interest in story songs eg. performance and installation artists, film-makers, animators and improvisors; usual, unusual and arty venues in which to perform her show; partnerships with promoters, producers or funders of the arts. Do please get in touch in connection with these or indeed any other extraordinary ideas.
