The Siren

Nocturnal poetry all over the town
Street lights glitter in a rooftop sky
The ice creeps widdershins over the houses
His loneliness is a siren song.

The siren at the window
Her startling beauty shimmers
He asks for nothing
Nothing at all.

Nocturnal poetry all over the town
In the eaves a web of dust
The kitchen glitters to a single flame
There he sits alone and stark in the light
A simpleton in the world of man
And his loneliness is siren song

The Siren at the window
Her startling beauty shimmers
And he asks for nothing
Nothing at all

She watches this world of man
Lost in memories of all those glory days.
So many questers for new worlds
Those so called lovers only wanting a lock of siren tress
All dashed against the rocks.

The siren at the window,
Her startling beauty shimmers.
He asks for nothing
Nothing at all.

She goes to him through the window
Her memories scatter, flicker
Fireflies in this nocturnal poetry
Yes! She goes to him through the window
Her memories scatter, flicker
Fireflies in this nocturnal poetry

The siren and her simpleton in this world of man
And they ask for nothing
Nothing at all.
