Sandman

Mr. Moon has come a-calling
In his violet dressing gown
Foxes in the undergrowth
Laying the scent home

Fill your eyes with wild things
Sandman takes you where he will
I have packed a little traveling bag
The train tracks lead home

Catch a lyric while you're gone
The hero slays the dreadful beast
Sandman he will bring you home
When the dawn breaks from the East.

The tinker, the tailor,
The beggar and the mouse
Are all tucked up in their
Gingerbread house

A splash of truth, a pack of lies
And just a pinch of fools gold
All tied up with bits of string into a bow
One hundred costume changes in a little travelling bag
Left unattended beside the door.

If there is no hero
Then who will slay the dreadful beast ?
And who will bring you home ?
Sandman sandman can't bring you home
When the dawn breaks from the east

I have put my mark upon the map
I found the missing breadcrumb track
It always lead to this place
Sandman takes you where he will
He blows the sadness from your face

Mr moon has come a-calling
In his violet dressing gown
Foxes in the undergrowth
Laying the scent home

The tinker, the tailor, the beggar and the mouse
Are all tucked up in their gingerbread house.
